ARTIST IN TIME
Robert Janz has been making kinetic artwork for over five decades. He has worked in the natural environment, and shown in prestigious galleries and world class museums. Interested in transience, his most extreme projects are water drawings that evaporate as you watch.
JANZ : Artist in Time picks up his story as he turns eighty, when he starts making his work on the streets of New York. The film follows him for over two years, documenting the making of his street art, and delving into his surprising past. The film introduces the photographers and bloggers who post images of street art on the internet, communicating instantly to a worldwide audience the changing work.
Spending time with the artist we come to understand that his work is so much more than the beautiful art that he produces; it is an attitude to life, a playful engagement, a way of living thrillingly in the present.
